Message To be fair, it does probably depend on the particular filter application, but in my experience, what they offer in the heavy-duty space is definitely a low-cost option in the marketplace. We would consider WIX/NAPA a "will-fit" aftermarket product...yes, it will fit on your engine application, but no, it was not designed or validated to meet/match the OEM performance specification. I'd choose WIX over FRAM all day though...I cut open a FRAM filter one time for work and was appalled at the construction of that product...cardboard end plates, half the number of pleats in the media, etc. You could tell just looking at it that it was not manufactured nearly as well as any of the competitive crosses to it that I also cut open.
